Author Biography
Carlo Santi was born in Abano Terme (PD) on 19.04.1963 and lives in Montegrotto. He is married with two children. To his credit has a twenty-year esperienza quale Dirigente Sindacale, prima in Cisl poi in Cisal. E' stato docente in Diritto del Lavoro presso la Scuola Alberghiera di Montagnana, PD (classi 4° e 5° nel biennio 1994/1995). Oltre all'attività di scrittore, svolge la libera professione quale Consulente Aziendale e del Lavoro.

"The Fifth Gospel" is your latest publication? We speak also of previous ones?
Yes, "The Fifth Gospel" is my second publication and consider it a debut however, given the commitment to research to document what I have described and, among other things, is ready the sequel.
I have tried to write, for the first time in 2004 with the book entitled "The Fire Within," now out of production. The story was the detective genre / Action dove i protagonisti facevano parte di un’unità investigativa dell’ONU incaricati alle indagini legate ad alcune morti misteriose. Gli omicidi, infatti, erano tutti ai danni di personalità politiche del G8 e i cadaveri si presentavano stranamente bruciati dall’interno, come fossero arsi dentro ( da qui il titolo ). A quel tempo pensavo che un romanzo poliziesco o d’azione dovesse, erroneamente, essere ambientato negli USA, quindi ho fatto quella scelta di cui, però, mi sono pentito quasi subito. Oggi ritengo che una buona storia debba essere soprattutto coerente e più si conoscono i posti descritti, più la storia è credibile. “Il fuoco dentro”, invece, è storia del passato, invented by me because too many unknown environments, too many characters so no one has had the prominence it deserved. Today, a re-reading, it would change completely, which I intend to do in the near future because the story is so compelling.
How and when did you start writing "The Fifth Gospel"?
I am an avid reader, and when they are on vacation, I take with me at least a dozen books that I buy during the year and read them all under the umbrella. After so many years since the first book I've always been the desire to return to writing, but there has never managed a bit 'for the time lacked a bit 'because I was not inspired, so I left alone. I like books like Yellow / Thriller / Noir, I have not found many Italian writers who specialize in this field, apart from Mark Butticchi I adore. So, spurred on by my wife and friends, I decided to venture back into writing by creating a story that one can easily predict the sequel. In December 2009 I started "The Fifth Gospel" and it was all quite simple: I managed to see the history, consistency and character of the characters, the plot of the story. The story is set in places I know very well and the main character look like me temperamentally ( so maybe I was too physically! ). It took 1,876 hours to finish well the novel, sometimes writing more than twenty-four hours in a row counting on my staff that I have 'covered ' work to shoulder some of my expenses. In return I have dedicated to each of them, a character in the novel.
What is the argument of the book?
"The Fifth Gospel" is like Thriller / Noir, and tells of a special unit reserved for the Vatican: "Consilium Solutionum Sanctum", briefly called SCS, the head of which is the main character which is called the " Solver . The SCS is an organization established by Pope Boniface I in the fifth century with a mandate to protect and preserve the innermost secrets of the Holy See.
The topic chosen and the atmosphere are developed around the issue Gospel of Mary Magdalene, was lost in the first centuries AD but in the novel has always existed and kept secret at the Vatican Library. In it are collected by the last will of Jesus, given to Mary Magdalene when he appeared before ' ascension that, if disclosed, would provide evidence that the Church has lied for millennia risk of landslides in that truth.
The command of an organization called " Dusk", a fringe Catholic Church a thousand years before the spill, steals the manuscript from the archives of the Vatican Library, killing the three guards, who will be only the first victims of a long list. Always ardent supporter and follower of Mary Magdalene that she was the only MP to found the Church of Christ ( not Peter who denied him several times ), the Twilight want to use the Gospel to establish a new Church made up of women, inspired by the nativity and the creation rather than on the foundations laid down by the machismo and chastity and celibacy.
La Santa Sede rende pubblica la notizia degli omicidi ma, su ordine diretto del Papa, nasconde il furto. Il Vaticano vuole evitare domande, l’argomento è troppo riservato e pericoloso per le basi stesse su cui si fonda l’intera cristianità, altresì, non gradisce le interferenze della magistratura italiana che sta indagando sugli omicidi. Per questo il Papa incarica Tommaso Santini, il Risolutore , di recuperare il manoscritto a qualsiasi costo, garantendogli l’indulgenza plenaria per i mezzi estremi che sarà costretto a usare contro questi potenti e pericolosi nemici della Chiesa.
Tommaso Santini seguirà le tracce degli uomini del Crepuscolo prima in Egitto, poi a Montecarlo e infine in Germania, in un susseguirsi di colpi di scena, scontrandosi violentemente e senza esclusione di colpi con questo secolare nemico della Santa Sede.
All’inizio della storia vi è un fatto curioso: la magistrata, incaricata delle indagini sugli omicidi in Vaticano, sospetta proprio di Tommaso Santini e lo segue nei suoi misteriosi spostamenti trovandosi, così, involontaria protagonista nel bel mezzo di un sanguinario scontro tra due potenti e millenari nemici. Il resto è adrenalina pura.
Quale target di lettori pensi possa essere interessato a “Il quinto Vangelo”?
Spero una varied and wide range of readers interested and curious, like myself, of dense textures of action and plot twists, but also attracted by scenery unusual and sometimes exotic or lovers of the thriller with archaeological implications that underline and enhance some legends "related primarily to the Church, without pretension, despite extensive research in order to avoid obvious inconsistencies, to give, offer or suggest any theological aspect.
When you can see published the sequel to "The Fifth Gospel"
is ready! Entitled "The Dark Bible" and is being launched.
The story, narrated in the book "The Dark Bible", is a prophecy of Nostradamus, among other things really professed in Quatrain VIII.77 and IX.99 and confirmed by the Committee of the Roman Catholic Church Universal, which announced the advent of the Antichrist on earth at the beginning of the third millennium. The Antichrist, at the age of thirty years of life, will draw its power from a nefarious book called, precisely, the "Dark Bible". The prophecy indicates that the advent of such a disturbing figure will cause the destruction of the Holy See and will result in the abomination of desolation and devastation of the earth with catastrophic events of enormous magnitude. Thomas Santini, Solver, the Antichrist will stop before reaching his thirty years of life.
Again, I was inspired by documented facts, freely adapted to the needs narrative, but still with a mysterious background of truths.
In processing have also "order canceled" and "Bastards you become." We want to anticipate anything about it?
pleasure. Both are of a different genre and subject.
"Order canceled" is an Italian secret service agent (Maximum Serami ) charged with killing a mob boss ( Vito Spataro ) before he can join the world's most dangerous gangs in a single cartel. Any attempt to clip the boss failed, so it was decided to delete it in secret. Serami has forty-eight hours to find him and bring out his dangerous mission. The order is irreversible!
Inexplicably, however, the same order will be canceled and it is imperative that Vito Spataro remains alive. Serami do not know, has received strict instructions not to communicate or allow anyone but especially wary of anyone, even his colleagues and friends because of corruption Spataro has involved the leaders of the Agency. No one can make contact with Serami, nobody can approach him. Part of a new mandatory order: Massimo Serami stop at all costs, even killing him if necessary and to do it, my colleagues have been less than twenty-four hours. Take a veritable manhunt, all the Agency is mobilized, but it will be a far from easy. Indeed, no one is able to ensure that we can really stop Massimo Serami.
Thus, a novel pure adrenaline, no gaps, where the power will reign supreme from the first page and the final will be guaranteed with a bang.
'Bastards become, instead, is a humorous essay. I do not know when I can finish it. Suffice it to say that I write a topic every time I'm inspired by real events in my daily life, personal or professional. Often they are witness to what you bastards, to what the people are bad and evil. The idea of \u200b\u200b"bastards we become" born from the realization that people are getting worse as they go along in years. My book is a guide to the bastards, because they too, in reading and recognizing what you have written, might repent of their bastardy, or, continue improving it.
An example per tutti è il caso che mi è capitato con l’incarico di consulente a favore di due fratelli che si sono divisi l’eredità cospicua lasciata dai genitori deceduti. Entrambi hanno litigato per mesi, ho faticato per stabilire un’equa ripartizione di case e terreni per un valore di oltre seicentomila euro fino a quando si sono trovati d’accordo. Alla fine, rimaneva un debito di quindicimila euro contratto dal padre. Nessuno dei due voleva accollarsi tale debito, io proposi a ognuno dei due fratelli di accollarsi la metà dell’importo. Risultato: mi hanno mandato il recesso dall’incarico ( senza pagarmi la parcella per non aver svolto bene il mio mestiere ) perché era mio dovere professionale prevedere the division of assets, not debts.
You bastards can be more than that?
Well, this inspired me to write a series of short stories, more or less short, the life stories of simple people who, faced with important choices and sensitive bastards are even more of us, perhaps without even being account.
What would you say to your readers to get them to read "The Fifth Gospel"?
I would say that is not true that the Thriller quality are only the ones written by authors from overseas, even at home there are good quality: "The Fifth Gospel" is one of them.
